The new LearnSpeed has been rewritten from the ground up to leverage the latest in open source LAMP technologies. LAMP is Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP. LearnSpeed uses the current PHP 5.3 programming language, the time proven MySQL database engine, and is served by Apache 2.0 web servers all running on Fedora 14 Linux. The platform also leverages many other excellent open source technologies including the Doctrine ORM database layer and the jQuery javascript engine.

LearnSpeed is hosted on Amazon's EC2 server cloud and has been engineered to take advantage of its realtime demand scaling architecture. LearnSpeed efficiently scales to as many servers as necessary to handle load. Security is ensured through the use of high grade firewalls, large key SSL certificates, and encrypted user data. Amazon's entire EC2 platform is PCI compliant for credit card transaction handling.
